Activities & Achievements 

 

The Sectime project has made several Achievements since its initial start back in 2012. From its Role Play to its Builds and projects, it has grown into a known name with in the community of Sci-Fi on Second Life. The articles bellow go from project's ranging from the Citys to some of the early events in the Sectime time line. 

Gallifrey Reborn

Gallifrey Reborn was a project undertaken on behalf of the Gallifrey Reborn Role Play group. This project was undertaken by Sectime father Samuel Brunel and Stabitha Zond who both built aspects of the cities. From the buildings and furniture to the environment. The Role Play City sadly closed down, but it was a great joy to be able to work on such a ambitious build together with friends to create a taste of Gallifrey.

Above shows Samuel Brunel at work on the Panopticon. The main meeting area for all Time Lords. 
The main tower was desighned by both Stabitha Zond and Samuel brunel. The concept being Gallifreyen in taste but with unique features such as the house tower to the right, showing the colours of houses of the Gallifreyen Academy. 
We also implemented flying space ships inspired by the ships shown in the Doctor Who episode Hell Bent. Once completed, it had a great affect and showed the different buildings styles and taste. One thing Samuel Brunel always appreciated was ideas and feedback, so some of the design was also by the community as a whole.

Starting a project of this size was always a challenge but one Stabirtha Zond and Samuel Brunel took on gladly and was grateful for the owners of the sim to ask us to do. Luckily, Samuel Brunel experience of building on this Scale came from his New Arcadia city (see section bellow) witch he spent most of his time working on, improving it as he gained more experience in mesh work and textures. He used the experience of building that to gain ideas for the Gallifrey Reborn City. 
The picture to the left shows Gallifrey Reborn before it was revamped by Stabith Zond and Samuel Brunel. Still a design that struck you as Gallifreyen and one that was widely liked to.

New Arcadia

The city of New Arcadia build goes back a very long way. In 2014 it was originally on a sim called Ayapeliat directed and owned by Karsa. The build was still good but small and kept out of site for the most part. It was decided after a meeting with Karsa, Samuel brunel and Vale Chronotis to move New Arcadia to a sim that could mean it being a fully fleshed city. At the start, there was no where to place it and it was decided to build it on a small parcel of land owned by Samuel Brunel. This was the very first start of the New Arcadia city that would go on to be a bigger project than anticipated.

As the picture to the left show, it was in a small space that the first city was built. It used little mesh work and relied more on the textures to make the city stand out. The sky affect was used by simply using box prims to create the right affect. One thing that was always a constant  in all future versions of the city was the center piece you see in the picture with the glowing blue Gallifren text circling it. Although the desighn would change to add more detail, the center piece would always continue to have the same basic design as the first.

The original new Arcadia was also home to the Sectime Plaza, where the group met. It was with in the first tower on the second floor. 
Not long after the first New Arcadia was complete Samuel Brunel was introduces to Stabitha Zond who graciously offered her sim to build a full blown city. This was the start of a great friendship that continues to this day. 
The New Arcadia full city now begun and took many different shapes and revamps. The first design was largley a learning curv for the following build around a year later. As Samuel brunel experience grew, so to did his ideas and designs. The first city (shown bellow) relied on a central tower and several smaller ones to creat the space and different buildings for Role Play.

The center tower used mostly texture and prim work with little mesh (something that would change in the revamps to come). The idea of this was to make it easier to get around the city. The towers mainly used lifts and a teleport system for transport. The New Arcadia city now head important role play buildings ranging from a prison to a research center and TTC growing station.

The picture to the right shows Cody Chronotis (cody.conundrum) and Samuel brunel at the center piece with there personal TTC capsules. The walkways and most of the podiums were completed using mesh including there center piece only very slightly altered from the original. 
This version of the city would last a while but soon it was time for a revamp. Samuel Brunel had been experimenting a lot with mesh and the things he could do with it to not only keep land impact down but also the different designs it could create. A new design for the city began to then take shape. One that is now the most recognisable and unique.

It started by having the central tower re-done and all other buildings were taken away. The central tower then hosted most of the important facilities needed in role play. The one building separated was the Prison. Inside the bottom glass dome we Gardens and center piece. The top floor was reserved for the offices of the High Council of time lords that watched over the city. The small towers you see on the outside were decoration but would soon be changed for mesh ones.

The picture to the right shows the mesh towers in place for decoration. There was more decoration, rooms and mesh work than in any other build Samuel Brunel had undertaken.

The Logo shows the City at its height. Sadly, the city is now gone but the building helped with countless other products and projects that Sectime has been involved with. The city was a favourite of its main builder. It continues to be a source of inspiration for design and Gallifreyen decor. There are some more pictures of the variations of New Arcadia in the Gallery bellow this article. 
Note : thank you to all who played a hand in building the City. It is never down to just one person when building these great cities but a team effort. 

Other Projects And Stuff

​Twine Filming

in 2012 i took part in a Twine productions film. While representing the Sectime family, i played the Evil Guardian of the time lord. With my black robe to represent evil and the Professors robe of white to represent good we filmed our seen in a beautiful forest land. I took several takes as it was my first time being filmed for a movie on SL. After that i asked them if we may have some pictures for this page/blog.  Twine is famous for his Sci-fi  movies using SL and it is no wonder.​ They are incredible. In my opinion he should be nominated for a Academy !
